Plug Into the Revolution
If you haven't been playing with Rev 4.0 you have no excuse not to: RevMedia is now free.
If you already have RevEnterprise you can use the developer preview edition of that product for v4.0. But everyone can check out RevMedia 4.0, and there's good reason to: the new browser plugin.
Yep, finally you can write your interactive web content in RevTalk. All you need is a spare minute to sign up for the free alpha testing program for RevMedia 4.0 and you'll get the new product, the plugin, and everything you need to create and deploy rich content for the web.
Here on our humble server we have our own modest revolution: I finally added a blog to the site.
It's written top-to-bottom in Rev, with the Rev CGI driving the stack-based data files on the server to the simple Rev client I wrote to post in it.
So far it seems to be doing well, and held up to testing over the weekend in which I threw more than a thousand large posts into it. For this infrequent blogger that's more than a year's worth.
I hope you enjoy reading it.

Jacque Gay of HyperActive Software has released a new tool to help Revolution developers add a registration system to their software quickly, easily, and very affordably - from her site:
Zygodact provides an easy, automated way to add a complete registration serial key system to your Revolution standalone application or stack. With only a single line of code, Zygodact will check to see whether your application has been registered with a valid serial key. If not, it displays a dialog requesting a user ID and registration key. If your user cannot provide a valid registration, Zygodact gracefully shuts down your software, disallowing access.
Zygodact does all the work for you. It generates any number of customer serial keys for your application, and handles every aspect of requesting and tracking a valid software registration on your user’s computer.
The Zygodact registration system can be purchased through RevSelect, and is also available as part of a time-limited Megabundle offered by RunRev at a very compelling price.
